Below are some snippets of news that you will not see cover widely in the U.S. media. Whether you agree or not, the truth should always be told, we are Christians after all, and must not refrain from speaking for the ones that have no voice. That is what our Lord, Jesus, would ask us to do. So be brave and open your mind and hearts to the suffering of others. Rick Sanchez was fired from CNN for using his first amendment right to free speech. Elliot Spitzer is an adulterer and now he works for CNN. Christians, Catholics, tell me what is worse, to speak your mind or commit adultery?
Israeli Supreme Court deports Irish Nobel laureate. If you notice if you read the article, the only people that can disagree and not get in trouble in Israel are other Jews, ex. Noam Chomsky. If you are not a Jew, you are considered persona non grata, or even worse, anti-semitic. How sad for a country that wants to be a democracy! But it is the rest of us fault, we allow it, so shame on us too! http://azstarnet.com/news/world/article_03993aaf-bc73-54b3-a409-0997c0368773.html
Imagine that Mexico or someone else invaded our country, would you like to be treated like this? Would you sit on your hands and do nothing while this happens? Answer this question not politically, but as a Christian, a Catholic. We do not owe anything to any country or any people. The past is the past and it is over and everyone needs to get on with the future. There is no guilt in my heart, and there should be no guilt in your heart either. You are not a bad person when you disagree with criminal behavior regardless where it comes from. We are accountable in Iraq and Afghanistan, why then should our own government be afraid to demand the same from others! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tW1-_JmXQt0&feature=related Should this still be happening in the 21st century? Have we learned anything from the past? Do we care enough about indigenous people? http://www.fides.org/aree/news/newsdet.php?idnews=27478&lan=eng
